Candice's Style
Since last Tuesday, I might have repeated it countless times, but the overwhelming sense of honor and gratitude still lingers within me. Being a part of something truly grand has left an indelible mark. As we delve into this week's "An Outfit and a Glass of Wine," I am dedicating it to one of my all-time favorite opportunities.
Typically this time of year, I have fully made the switch to red wine. I just love a heavy glass of cab or malbec when the temperatures drop. But since moving to Phoenix, I have changed up my seasonal drinking to just match the mood of the day. And this oftentimes depends on the weather. This year, it’s warm. It’s cooler than summer, but it is still very very warm. I can’t bring myself to completely switch over.
The last few months I have been preparing myself for a toddler room update. Our little girl is growing up quickly, and her bedroom needs were changing.
The leaves are changing colors… somewhere, not here in Phoenix, but somewhere. And I’m totally feeling the fall vibes, especially after our brutal summer here in Arizona. I wanted to share some of my fall picks that I can’t wait to wear with the weather permits.
I sourced some affordable pieces that are incredibly versatile and timeless. Classics, that won’t break the bank. They would look great on the beaches of Mexico or a sidewalk café in Paris.
A ribbed dress that hugs all the right places. Ties in front to camouflage any puffiness in the mid-drift, and is as soft as a baby’s booty..
I know, I know. Spring is right around the corner, so close we can taste it. Literally, the universe is giving us little previews now and then. And as exciting as that may be for basically everyone else that doesn’t live in Arizona, well, I’m happy for you but what that means to us, is that summer is that much closer. Even without all of that though, I’m a winter girl at heart. Layers, coats, jackets, and boots are just my thing. So I don’t miss an opportunity to bring those bad boys out when it’s time. my closet is 97% winter clothes and the average temperature here is like 75 degrees. So that’s where we are.
This winter my closet has been more focused on classic pieces that I can wear for years to come. I have pretty much done away with anything fast fashion, and I am adding things to my closet that actually make me happy to look at. I find myself more drawn to quality fabrics that feel nice and look good hanging beside one another.
Quality Gifts for every special woman in every stage of your life. Whatever the relationship, from grandma, wife, girlfriend, mother-in-law, I kind of like you’s, and more. However, there are absolutely no gifts listed that would be good for your side chick.
I’ve been trying to get a Cyber Monday post up all weekend but Squarespace would not allow me to edit my original blog post! So here were are, a rushed version of the initial (this is the third try, so wish me luck!). I only get one shot to get this blog post right, so I apologize for any errors, as I’m not able to edit it once it goes live!
Lots of questions via Instagram on mine and Nixon’s Holiday wardrobe so I’m adding click-thru links below. Most every item is on a major sale today! Just click on something you like and it’s a link to shop :)
A few months ago I talked with a John Hancock adviser about finances. A topic that I literally avoid at all cost. This year has toughened me up a bit and I realized it was time. I’m so happy that I finally did that, because it wasn’t that scary after all. I realized I never truly had education in that area and it was time to do a little organizing.
This inspired something bigger in me, though. I realized that I had been treating other parts of my business and my life like I had been treating my finances. Sure, I would buy nice things here and there, but nothing in my closet felt like me. The rise of fast fashion truly sucked me in. I’m not sure when it happened, but I think it was right after having Nixon and nothing would fit. I didn’t want to spend a ton of money on clothes, so I was turning to fast fashion clothing to make me feel better about myself. That landed me here… mountains of clothing that is just not me. Lots of things that just do not spark joy.
