Coconut Oil Sugar Scrub | DIY

This sugar scrub is seriously the best! I already love sugar scrubs because they are a gentle way to exfoliate your skin but this one is especially amazing. It’s all natural and made with beneficial ingredients! It consists of only three ingredients that you most likely already have sitting in your kitchen right now. It’s made with sugar, coconut oil and orange zest. Coconut oil is the ultimate natural moisturizer, plus it smells amazing. The orange zest adds natural fragrance, plus it’s a great source of vitamin C! Many people know how important it is to consume vitamin C, however lots of people don’t realize that your skin needs that vitamin C also! Vitamin C is great for your skin because it assists collagen production and of course it acts as an antioxidant.

This sugar scrub can be made in less than 10 minutes and the clean up is super quick. Everything gets mixed in one bowl! No heat necessary, so don’t worry about turning on your stove and making a mess with pots and pans. This DIY sugar scrub will save you money, time and you’ll feel better knowing that you’re using whole, natural ingredients on your skin!

What you’ll need:

  • 1 Cup of Sugar
  • ¼ Cup of Coconut Oil
  • 1 Orange
  • Cheese Grater

What you’ll do:

  1. Mix the sugar and the coconut oil together in a medium sized until fully combined.
  2. Allow the sugar scrub to sit for a few minutes while you zest your orange. You will do this by grating the skin of the orange along your cheese grater. Continue to grate the orange skin until you have about 2 tablespoons of orange zest.
  3. Mix your orange zest into your sugar scrub mixture.
  4. Transfer the sugar scrub from your bowl to a jar or other container that has a lid. Store at room temperature.
