Nixon's New Big Girl Room | Toddler Update

The last few months I have been preparing myself for a toddler room update. Our little girl is growing up quickly, and her bedroom needs were changing. When I started planning for the nursery, I used a design service. There was a lot of trial and error there, and I realized I would rather do it myself this time around. But since I am an amateur, I would need help with the heavy lifting, measurements, assembling, etc. I used Domestique Concierge to help me with the room transition. They were there to do anything I couldn’t do. Lots of assembling, coordinating deliveries, dealing with hiccups, and everything in between. This was not a partnership, we met Bethany when I had my recent surgery and she has been there to help us out every step of the way! They are currently spearheading and coordinating several home projects for us and we are so very happy to have their help!

Anyway, I wanted to share their services with you incase you have ANY concierge needs.

When I was planning the nursery, I knew I wanted something neutral and calm. I had fallen in love with prints of baby animals to the point that I would literally cry happy tears when I saw them! So I knew I had to add them to her room. I didn’t know Nixon yet, so the room was more about our needs and what we thought would be best. Fast forward 2.5 years and we know exactly who Nixon is! She’s a very sassy, very sweet, LOVING, caring, girly-girl. So I took note and designed her room to be a reflection of who she is. Growing up I had a room full of hand-me-downs so Nixon’s room design was partially my dream room coming to life, too! Her dad had a little input as well - he wanted to add a whimsical nook for her to play in and feel safe. To read, cuddle, and use her imagination.

I am so happy with the way it turned out. Nixon really loves it. She’s a big fan of having a little freedom. She likes her independence and I can’t blame her. I have to remind myself that it is good for her, to wander a bit, play alone, be who she is without me. It’s the natural way, and I wanted to give her a safe and comfortable, beautiful space to do it in!

For this project, I partnered with Poster Store. They sponsored all of the beautiful framed images you see here.
