Guys, if this stuff got us through Making a Murderer, it can get us through anything. I won’t comment on my stance on that situation (I like to keep things light and airy here), but I think we can all agree that it was tough to watch. BUT. CAN’T. STOP. WATCHING.
I know that some of you are just beginning that documentary so I thought I’d share this comforting recipe. I know I shared it last holiday season, but the recipe has changed a little since then. I was making everyones tongue numb because I was putting way too much clover. Ya live and learn. Drink up and calm down.
As always, I fit as many superfoods in as possible.
You will need. . .
4-6 apples (choose sweet ones, with one green bitter)
5 whole cloves
4 cinnamon sticks
4 whole cardamom pods
1/2 tspn ground ginger
1/2 tspn nutmeg
3 large tbls honey
Cut apples into quarters, place in a large pot. Pour water over the apples until they’re completely covered. Add cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, honey and cardamom. Bring to a rolling boil. Turn down to simmer mode and cover pot. Stirring occasionally for about one hour.
Sip, sip, hooray!
