Hotel Overview | Featuring Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay

We recently had the luxury of staying at Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay and it was such a DREAM. Half Moon Bay is a small city on the California coast and is a total dream for nature lovers. The coastline has lots of paths for hiking and biking and the water is great for surfing and boating.

There’s also so much wildlife to see. Whenever we visit we always see the prettiest birds and elephant seals. Going on long walks here is definitely always a highlight of our trip. It’s been so fun to introduce all of these new sights to Nixon. There’s plenty of cute shops and restaurants in Downtown Half Moon Bay. The sidewalks are tree-lined and the buildings are so gorgeous. We love to dine in downtown whenever we get the chance and we always opt to sit outside if we can.

Strolling the streets and enjoying the nice weather is one of our favorite things to do when we visit. It just feels so colorful and sweet here, Half Moon Bay has for sure became one of our favorite vacation spots. The Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay is set on a bluff above the Pacific Ocean. It feels so secluded but at the same time it’s not far at all to the best Bay area destinations. The property has two championship golf courses, fire pits on the Ocean Lawn, and a luxury spa.

The Ritz offers a glass of wine during check-in, wifi in guest rooms and common areas, access to the spa’s co-ed whirlpool, daily group exercise classes, fitness center access, bottled water and towels, water aerobics equipment, board games, access to tennis courts, and of course swimming pool access. The resort is gorgeous and surrounded by so much greenery and water. I love how the weather in Half Moon Bay is always good year round. We got to spend a lot of time outside soaking in the cool air and it was so nice.

I could not imagine being in a better location. The Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay is only 30 minutes from San Francisco (another one of my favorite cities) and everywhere we went on the property had the most gorgeous view of the Pacific Ocean, including our suite! We loved spending time in our beautiful room, it was really spacious and cozy at the same time. The room had the most comfortable feather bed and a gorgeous marble bathroom. The view was of breathtaking and we even had a gas fireplace to curl up by.

Dining at Half Moon Bay was such a treat. All of their restaurants have the best food and perfect atmosphere. Navio is the resort’s refined seafood restaurant and it is the perfect dinner spot. Everything we tried was really good and we had the best view of the ocean.

We also loved having lunch at Half Moon Bay’s modern beach house inspired restaurant, The Conservatory. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed and they had the yummiest cocktails. The Ocean Terrace was definitely one of our favorite spots to spend time outdoors while getting to enjoy a few drinks and the sunset.

The spa at Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay is spectacular. The spa features 13 treatment rooms, as well as adult-only relaxation facilities including a whirlpool with a fireplace, saunas and steam rooms. They offer the best facials and massages and you get to take it all in right by the water.

The Coastal Lavender Indulgence treatment is one of their signature treatments. It encourages a restful night’s sleep with the aroma of lavender. You’ll relax in a warm fragrant body wrap and enjoy a light pressure massage. The Redwood Forest Ritual is another one of the resort’s signature treatments. It’s inspired by the surrounding California Redwoods. This treatment includes a hot poultice massage, a scalp massage and uses a variety of indigenous earthy herbs and wood blends to help you feel grounded, complete and restored.
