Safe & Effective Beauty Products | Featuring Beautycounter
I cannot tell you how many times I've been contacted by someone urging me to try Beautycounter. I have to admit, I was skeptical. There are so many people selling beauty products these days --- claiming theirs is the best and the least toxic...and on and on and on. I finally gave in to Beautycounter after doing a little of my own research and I liked what I saw.
What's up with this company??? Well, for one, it's an MLM. Which, I'll be honest, is one reason I didn't give it a try earlier on. MY BAD. I'll go ahead and tell you that this is a sponsored post, like many of my posts because -- girl gotta pay the bills. But I will NEVER promote a product I don't absolutely love and if I do, it's because I'm giving you an honest review right down to every little ugly detail. Most of the time, I vet my own sponsors because I do research on a topic and then I find a product that fits the bill and I write to them and I'm like HEY, you need to pay me and send me some of this for free because I'm about to make you a lot of sales. Ha... really keeping it real today, huh?
Back to topic - So for this post, my friend sent these products to me (for free, #sponsored)-- and I'll be frank, I was like.. GREAT, more crap. But I was intrigued, and after all, this was a friend that seems very passionate about the fact that the products are non-toxic and very educated on the ingredients in the products I was already using. I was impressed and agreed to try it.
Beautycounter really is out there trying to improve the world, one beauty product at a time. You see, ALL of the ingredients in your products get absorbed by the largest organ your body has (aka the skin). They immediately sink into your blood stream -- and I'm here to tell you, a lot of the ingredients, even the ones APPROVED by U.S. law, are NOT safe. They are harming you. Beautycounter wants to change that while also providing products that WORK. That's a new one for me.
Look, I preach safe, natural products all day long but the truth is, I still supplement with products that have weird ingredients because the natural ones just don't do what they say they're going to do.
Until now.
I'll start with my second favorite product: The Hydrating Face Oil -- I like for my skin to look youthful and glowy at all times. And for that reason, sometimes I wind up looking like a greaseball (because the oils I'm using are not absorbing, therefore, doing nothing for me). I absolutely LOVE oils... but some just don't work the way I want them to.
That's why this one is my favorite!!!! All the moisture without the greasy look. Just soft, supple and glowy. YAS YAS YAS. And it has greatly improved the tone of my skin.
It is the simplest way to moisturize skin and boost radiance, this silky formula contains a luxurious blend of pure plant oils. Unlike synthetic oils, which can sit on skin, the Hydrating Face Oil is easily absorbed for complete hydration. Hydrating Face Oil contains jasmine oil, an ingredient that adds a subtly sweet floral scent and helps boost hydration, making this formula a great option for anyone with dry or mature skin.
This product being a favorite was so surprising to me. It's such a simple little bottle with a simple description... but let me tell you, I loved it! It's exactly what it says it is and so much more. It polishes your face, somehow, without making it red. Your skin feels so soft and smooth and not dehydrated, like other scrubs I've used.... I don't even want to call this a scrub.
This gentle yet super-effective exfoliating cleanser sweeps away impurities to uncover fresh, radiant skin. Non-abrasive jojoba beads help slough off dry skin, while organic coconut oil and aloe soothe and hydrate.
This makeup duo is super swanky. Every time I whip this thing out I get lots of oooo's and ahhh's because it's so well made. I feel like it's indestructible too, because I drop things like ALL THE TIME. It's perfect for traveling because I don't have to carry a blush and bronzer with me. I even use it for eyeshadow so I make it a three-in-one!
Designed to emulate naturally flushed cheeks, the Blush Duos deliver the perfect amount of healthy-looking, luminous color. These satiny powders contain Porcelain Flower Extract (a Thai bloom known for its antioxidant benefits) to help moisturize the skin, blending seamlessly. Two complementary shades—one slightly deeper than the other—can be worn alone, layered, or even mixed together for a third shade option.
My best friend while in-flight. I'm the one just spraying roses all over myself in the seat next to you. I like to stay HYDRATED. Always thinking about those little details. The spray calms redness and keeps your skin soft and radiant.
Wake up your complexion with the skin-softening toning spray, made with organic rose essence, purified water, and moisturizing sodium hyaluronate. Spritz it on to set makeup or whenever your skin needs an instant pick-me-up.
But, the one that wins ALL is the Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer
The tinted moisturizer leaves skin with a luminous glow. Dew Skin Moisturizing Coverage SPF 20 provides lightweight, sheer hydration that evens skin tone while protecting the skin from sun damage. Black currant, peony flower root extract, and vitamin C reduce the appearance of age spots and enhance skin brightness, while sodium hyaluronate promotes firmer, smoother-looking skin.
I love this stuff because you can be hydrated, protected, and covered all at the same time while looking effortlessly natural and youthful.
I take very good care of my skin - but I've been using these products for several weeks now and I've had more compliments than ever. Even with all the wear and tear of traveling, drinking, eating weird foods, etc. The surface of my skin is softer and more vibrant and hope you keep up with even more results as time passes!
Liesel is a Director with Beautycounter and she's such a little sweetie. She says the goal is to bring safe, high performing products to the market. Think Tom Ford meets Whole Foods. The reality is, most people don’t know what’s in their products they put on their skin. Every day we apply lotion, sprays, shampoo, and many other beauty products on ourselves and our kids. We assume everything is safe. She was shocked to find out the cosmetics and personal care industry in the U.S is largely unregulated. – The United States has not passed a major federal law to regulate the safety of ingredients used in personal care products since 1938. What’s worse is that companies are allowed to use harmful ingredients in our skincare/cosmetics and make their own judgments about safety. She felt compelled to educate others all while helping reduce her risk AND her daughter's risk for breast cancer. Our health is our greatest asset. Beautycounter intentionally bans the use of more than 1,500 questionable or harmful chemicals through the "Never List”. She says there's no better job in the world because she gets to work with amazing people on something that is incredibly important. You can shop and join her here: www.beautycounter.com/lieselhelms
