I love Thanksgiving and I LOVE Thanksgiving food but most of the traditional holiday dishes can leave me feeling heavy and bloated. I always want to leave Thanksgiving dinner feeling good about myself and my choices, so each year I swap a few traditional dishes with healthier alternatives.
As you guys all know, eating healthy has always been a top priority for me. I want to nourish my body with only the best, but sometimes, I don’t have the time or energy to prepare these types of meals.
That’s why I love Sakara Life. Sakara Life is a meal delivery service that’s comprised of only the most quality and healthful foods.
When I had to make the tough decision to supplement with baby formula, I was in shock by the ingredients in what’s available to us. There aren’t a lot of options in the US, unfortunately.
After looking into every baby formula possible. I decided that German formulas were right for us. Specifically, the Hipp brand formula. (This post is not sponsored).
Salads come in all different shapes, sizes, flavors, and believe me I do not discriminate. But if you think about it, all of the different varieties bring something different to the table, literally. So what makes a salad good?
The answer: so many different things. There are many parts to the equation that I cannot imagine my salad without. I am here to share my all time faves for the perfect at home salad.
As we all know I am organic everything! I get it, sometimes it may not be an option but using clean products, especially where it counts, will only add positive things to your life.
Being a woman we get so many “great” pleasures that men don’t have. The wider hips, child birth, societal pressure, and everyones favorite: periods. I have recently started to realize that many women just grab what is convent and go. I understand women are busier than ever these days. But your easy go to’s do not have to be unhealthy.
Because I mainly work from home I am used to the midday slumps or random mood spurts. But every since becoming a mom, being home is more work than ever before. Seeing the same four walls day after day can actually get tiring… believe it or not. This is why I have a few different daily life savers that perk me up and give me energy.
Okay, I totally get that the main benefit of brushing your teeth is so that people will not run away when you greet them, and the obvious dental hygiene perks. A pretty smile and healthy teeth is definitely worth the two times a day in my opinion. But what if I told you there are so many more reasons to keep up with your daily brushing habits?
When I had to leave my green-juice-filled, walks on the beach, endless restaurant options happy state of mind, to come to the desert, I was worried about many things. But one of my main concerns was what the hell I am I going to eat in ARIZONA….
Fast forward three years later and I can personally vouch for this dry, unfairly hot, desert town. There are some great spots all over the valley that keep me full, happy, and healthy. There are so many great options that fill my body, soul, and Instagram feed.
Two of my favorite things, wine and health benefits. I like when things are nutritious. Although I think I would still guzzle down some fermented grapes on a regular basis if the only thing it did was taste amazing. But after some thorough research I am happy to announce I get so much more done just by sipping away at the glass.
I've always tried to to err on the side of caution when it comes to beauty products, food and my overall health. I'm not exactly crunchy, but I do my homework when it comes to my health. I make decisions based on the information available and my own intuition. When I found out I was pregnant, I knew a couple of things I would be dropping right away. I'm ok with a chemical here or there, this is the real world and eventually, my baby will come into contact with said "toxins" at some point. But multiple toxins that are proven to cause harmful effects, used daily in my products, I have a problem with.
Here's a list of the products I did use while growing a baby! Always do your own homework and of course, chat with your doctor before trying something new.
The other day I was drinking the last of my 128 ounces of water, and it got me thinking about how many people don't drink as much water as they should. Why is that? Personally, I love getting every last drop in. It keeps my day running smoothly, skin plump, digestion system on track, and I don’t mind the taste at all. But I do know a lot of people who drink other things such as soda, juice, energy drinks, etc. because they all taste better than water.
I couldn’t be happier with how our our birthing story turned out. We feel so blessed to have come home with such a healthy and happy baby. While Nixon’s health is EVERYTHING, it’s so important that I make taking care of myself a priority as well. That’s why I am obsessed with Mama Strut. This company truly cares about the care and recovery of new mamas.
The kitchen is one of my many happy places. For obvious reasons like the food it has to offer but also for not so obvious reasons this is a place to create and really be in my element. Nutritious and organic can be delicious. As well as easy, swapping out a few things here and there for raw and natural ingredients, not only will make a difference in the taste of your food, but can alter your healthy, mood, and energy levels.
So I have put together a list of ten different ways you can switch up your food, and only gain good things while doing so. So grab a pen and the nearest piece of paper, because I promise, you will be running to the store to grab these hot items.
Working out on vacation is not for everyone. I totally get that, but for those who like to get their sweat in different time zones you know how hard it can be to get that perfect sesh in. Hotel gyms are tight, never have all of the right equipment, and honestly they smell weird. Personally I am a studio addict and have probably been to 90% of them on the west coast alone, ya know Soul Cycle for life.
Our last Bumble event at The Bar Method was so fun! I absolutely love whenever I get the chance to mix two of my favorite things: fitness and networking. Our BumbleBFF events are always a blast but this one was extra amazing because we got to partner with one of my favorite bar studios, The Bar Method.
The days are getting brighter and the rays are getting stronger in most places this Summer. Ahhhh the sun, the brightest and biggest star, that delivers so many benefits to us. Think of it as an exclusive club (that everyone is invited to) and you don’t have to pay a cent. Now with most club memberships you have advantages just for being a part of the team. The sun is no different, Vitamin D, immune support, brain health, aides in the decreasing of asthma, a natural pain killer, a mood booster, these are just a few sun perks one can gain.
