The Benefits Of Apple Cider Vinegar

I'm sorta kinda obsessed with ACV. My obsession started a few years ago when I had a major reliance on acid reducers (aka, proton pump inhibitors... aka Nexium, etc). I was on a ski trip in Aspen a week before my foot surgery and I was taking Advil every single day to combat the altitude sickness. Little did I know, I was creating a major peptic ulcer that I would have for many years. I took acid reducers for almost two years --- a scary thought since they came out with new studies linking these pills to Alzheimer's and many other things. Did you know you're not supposed to take them more than about a week? Each doctor I saw told me it was fine. But I was having health problems like crazy even though I was eating healthily and working out. I was also getting food poisoning A LOT. It wasn't until later that I found out that these pills make you more susceptible to that kind of thing. I even got it two days before my wedding. It was horrific! I knew I had to get off of those pills, I just didn't know how. I was so dependent on them because they actually make the acid worse, not better. They're basically a band-aid with no intention of actually solving the problem (and every intention of making it worse).

I had been reading online a lot about getting off the PPI's in a natural way and ACV kept popping up. So obviously I did some major research to find out why. I couldn't understand it, because ACV is SO acidic.... I was so confused. I learned a lot about the PH of your body and how certain stomach acids work in sync to alkaline your body. I used Apple Cider Vinegar to fix EVERYTHING.

A friend's dad recommends taking a dose of this with baking soda every day; although I need to form better habits doing this, I run to it as soon as my energy levels are low and I feel as if I may be getting sick (which doesn't happen often).

Regardless, it is a preventive way to keep the immune system balanced, provides good antibacterial and antifungal, helps with digestion, skin, hair, and many other things.

My friend always tell people before they taste it that if they are going to drink or take shots of alcohol, then taking apple cider vinegar isn't so bad after all!

I recommend taking a tablespoon of it daily; I also recommend doing it with baking soda. If you're having problems with acid reflux, indigestion, etc - try this!!! It worked for me and I have no doubt it will work for you too.

Apple cider vinegar has many other uses like DIY house cleaning supplies!

my favorite benefits of ACV

  • Preventing allergies (good for spring time)
  • Cold and Flu (vitamin C doesn't work, if you're feeling sick, reach for ACV)
  • Alleviates PMS
  • Aides Digestion
  • Improves mineral balance and digestion in the body, while helps to alkalize the body
  • It binds with enzymes to metabolize fats and carbohydrates. This may be the reason it helps with weight loss and diabetes!
  • Can be used medicinally, gets rid of poisons in the body, has disinfecting and cleaning properties and is a natural, nontoxic, biodegradable substance.
