tea time
As most of you know, I am a tea freak. I love all sorts of teas but I wouldn’t dare drink a tea that was NOT organic. Wanna know why? Because most tea is not washed before it is put into the tea bag. EWWWWW! I’m sorry, WHAT?! Yes, that means what you think it means… If the tea was sprayed with cancer-causing pesticides (and if it’s not organic, you can bet it was), you will be drinking those, directly.
Pesticides can definitely have horrible long-term effects. But the short-term can be just as scary (( especially if you are a woman )) !!! READ THIS. I don’t know about you, but I already deal with ENOUGH hormonal changes. I’ll keep my thyroid healthy, thanks.
Make sure you’re not using a plastic cup for your tea. I love using a straw to keep my teeth white but if you’re going to do that … make sure your straw IS NOT plastic. I like metal or glass straws. Paper straws can be great too, BUT, most paper is treated with a chemical (( epichlorophydrin )) that is not completely safe for human consumption on a daily basis. You will read that some tea bags contain this chemical as well. Do your research guys – it will save you down the road.
So, now that we’ve got that straight.. lets talk about the greatness that tea can be. If you stick with brands like Numi & Traditional Medicinals you’re good.
(( My favorites right now are Traditional Medicinals Dandelion tea and Numi Honey Bush tea ))
How do you feel about Dandelion? You should get to know this super…weed – LOL. Seriously though, I can’t get enough of it because I know how nicely it treats my body. Dandelion tea the first thing I reach for after a night of rich food and drinks. The dandyyyy -lion promotes digestion, stimulates zeee appetite, and balances the natural and beneficial bacteria in the intestines. It’s a superfood and a diuretic that helps the kidneys clear out waste, salt (( HUGE )), and excess water (( buh-bye monthly water weight )). Dandelion also does great things for the liver and urinary tract. Another thing I absolutely love about dandelion tea is that it’s full of antioxidants which slow down the aging process. Like, seriously, what’s not to love?
Ok, go have some ORGANIC dandelion tea.
