The days are getting brighter and the rays are getting stronger in most places this Summer. Ahhhh the sun, the brightest and biggest star, that delivers so many benefits to us. Think of it as an exclusive club (that everyone is invited to) and you don’t have to pay a cent. Now with most club memberships you have advantages just for being a part of the team. The sun is no different, Vitamin D, immune support, brain health, aides in the decreasing of asthma, a natural pain killer, a mood booster, these are just a few sun perks one can gain.

This recipe is my way of saying F U to my overwhelming cravings. I can have my cake and eat it too (whatever that means, never understood that... of course I'm going to eat my cake if I have it?). These pancakes are packed FULL of protein, antioxidants, vitamin C, vitamin K, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, magnesium, phosphorus, fiber, vitamin B6, folate, pantothenic acid, potassium, and manganese. And they are EASY AF to make because I used prepackaged collagen protein and this brand new flourless cauliFLOUR to make them.
As most of you know, we are expecting our first child in July. I'll preface with, WE WERE NOT TRYING. We had decided that we've waited this long, lets get to a point where we're not exactly as busy as we are now. But as most of you know... there really is no RIGHT TIME. And we discovered that we are more ready than ever.
This is that time of year where flu season has been lingering upon us with the cold weather and the busy holiday season just wrapping up. We all hear about the option of the flu shot year after year when fall rolls around warning us that flu season is coming. There are many studies out there that have discovered the low numbers of effectiveness the flu shot has for adults, elderly, and children alike. While in retrospect there are also lots of studies flooding the Internet that the flu shot can be effective in ways.
With my busy schedule lately, it’s been hard to avoid stress. Stress can really take a toll on your mind and body, and even on your hair and skin. As you guys probably already know, I take skincare very seriously, so calming my stress and remaining in control for the sake of my own health is a top priority.
Have you guys ever tried the bone broth protein from Sports Research? It’s my latest obsession! It’s basically a mixable protein that you can add to recipes and drinks. Each serving has over 20 grams of pure bone broth protein with Collagen and natural amino acids. It’s also non-GMO, dairy and gluten free, certified Paleo and Keto-friendly.
I love using an essential oil diffuser to help me relax. It’s effective, but sometimes I feel like it could be doing more. So, I started Googling new ways to use essential oils, and that’s when I found the idea of a DIY essential oil pillow spray! This is truly such an amazing idea, you guys. Basically, all you have to do is fill a small spray bottle with water and a few drops of relaxing essential oils and then spray it on your pillow! This spray covers your pillow with an aroma that induces relaxation and supports a healthy sleep pattern.
One of my biggest pet peeves is the feeling of chapped lips, so that’s why I pretty much always have lip balm on me. It’s definitely a must have because the feeling of dry lips can strike anytime. Especially now that it’s getting chillier out. Trust me, nothing is worse than putting lipstick on less than moisturized and conditioned lips. Luckily, I also have a secret weapon, this three ingredient lip scrub which is a total life saver. Whenever I start to feel that my lips aren’t in tip top shape, I whip up this scrub.
I love a good manicure, the only downside is routine manicures can typically dehydrate and thin
your nails over time. That’s why I always soak my nails between manicures in this super
moisturizing DIY nail soak. This is such an easy and quick beauty DIY, and everything you need
to make the soak is a typical household item. This soak is super moisturizing and strengthening
because each ingredient (only 4 total!) has major benefits.
I'm sure this is is no surprise, but I love having super soft hair. It drives me crazy when my hair starts to feel dry or break off when I brush it. The minute I see any breakage, I know it's time to pull out my fool proof DIY hair mask. I am so obsessed with this hair mask because it's made with totally natural ingredients. Obviously a store bought hair mask may seem like the easier option, but those masks are filled with chemicals to preserve the ingredients inside. So even if you find an avocado based hair mask at the store, only a small percentage of what your putting on your hair is truly avocado! It's way better to skip the middle man and just make the mask yourself. This way your locks only get the best of the best. Plus, it's so easy you guys!
There is nothing quite like a homemade pizza! In fact, it's one of my favorite things. I've really been into replacing bread and potatoes with cauliflower lately and now I prefer the taste. This recipe is super simple and will save you some calories and carbohydrates. It also has a lot of nutritional benefits that a traditional bread crust does not.
This sugar scrub is seriously the best! I already love sugar scrubs because they are a gentle way to exfoliate your skin but this one is especially amazing. It’s all natural and made with beneficial ingredients! It consists of only three ingredients that you most likely already have sitting in your kitchen right now. It’s made with sugar, coconut oil and orange zest. Coconut oil is the ultimate natural moisturizer, plus it smells amazing. The orange zest adds natural fragrance, plus it’s a great source of vitamin C!
Oil pulling has become a popular and interesting trend, involving swishing a tablespoon of an oil for 20 minutes in your mouth. Oil pulling has show to combat dental issues like gingivitis, plaque, and bad breath through removing the cells skin, covered with lipids and fatty membranes. When these cells are contacted with oil, they will naturally bond together and are eliminated by spitting the oil out. Oil pulling is a great supplement to include in your dental care routine in addition to brushing and flossing.
