For those of you that are new to the concept of roasting grapes, I'm with you! I recently read up on different roasted grape recipes and I was totally intrigued. I love grapes, but I usually eat them chilled... So the idea of tossing my grapes in olive oil, roasting them and eating them in a savory dish seemed out of the ordinary. However, the pictures on Pinterest made it look delicious so I had to try it for myself. Well, I am here to tell you that they are amazing!
With Summer still in full force here in Phoenix, I am looking for any and all ways to escape the heat. Weekend getaways, spending most my time indoors, and limiting my use of hot kitchen appliances! In fact, the freezer is my new favorite kitchen appliance this summer. No heat and it can make so many healthy snacks, like this one! These yogurt dipped kiwi slices are really good AND healthy. I love that they are frozen, they are totally the perfect summer snack when you need to forget that is 115 degrees outside.
I'm obsessed with having fresh flowers in the house! It makes a space feel so much happier and lived in. I grabbed some flowers from Trader Joe's the other day when I realized my only vase already had flowers in them, and I was definitely not ready to throw out my cute peonies!! They were still so fresh! LOL. Anyways, I've had a bunch of milk bottles lying around the house from a bridal shower I helped put together a couple years back. I think they are so cute but I never knew what to do with them. Until yesterday anyway when I was feeling desperate and I realized that I can totally use them as vases!!
Recently I was invited to attend an event at The Graduate Hotel in Tempe, Arizona; the college town of Arizona State University. Have you ever seen a DIY party chandelier like this before?? Probably not, since this is sort of a hybrid DIY that I created based off of other ideas on Pinterest, ha! I was scrambling to throw a birthday party together last minute the other day when I started browsing Pinterest for party decor inspiration. I found cute pins for DIY wreaths and DIY chandeliers and both were so cute that I really couldn’t decide between the two! So I combined them!
I love having flowers around the house! They can really brighten up an entire space. Of course, fresh flowers are always preferable (especially when Trader Joe's or Whole Foods have Peonies in stock!). But sometimes, you just want some flowers that you can count on and that will look good even a month from when you set them out! That's where artificial flowers come in.
Hey guys! Isn’t this yarn wall hanging so cute?! The craziest part? I made the whole thing for under $15! My favorite part is the touch of gold on all of the strings! I saw wall hangings similar to this on Pinterest and they used brass tubing. Brass tubing is so cool because it’s really high quality and it shines brilliantly. The only downside is that they get expensive when you are looking to buy 30 of them! So, I put my thinking cap on and realized that I could put gold paper straws on each string and totally get the same effect! I got my straws from Target in the DIY party section and it was only $3 for 20 of them! Plus they are great quality and super shiny, so your friends will never know that you didn’t invest $60 in brass tubing! This is the perfect afternoon DIY because it only takes a few hours to make from start to finish. Plus, the process of making the tassels is the bulk of it and it’s super repetitive so it’s easy to zone out and watch a movie while making them. Investing a few hours of my day to DIY this was so worth it because it’s a completely easy and fool-proof DIY. None of this expectations vs. reality here! Plus, at the end of day you’ll be left with something really special that you made by hand and can show off to all of your friends! Seriously, no one believes me that I made this. So roll up your sleeves, grab out the yarn, put on a movie and get started!
Aren't these salad skewers so cute? They are pretty healthy too! They are also the EASIEST thing to make. All it takes is grilling some chicken and then throwing the skewers together with the other totally easy ingredients. I pretty much threw this recipe together in about 30 minutes (including grilling time!) and I was so happy with the result!
Let’s be real, DIY pinterest inspired projects can be hard sometimes! Everything on Pinterest is so pretty and magical, and sometimes the end result that you worked so hard on just isn’t as pretty or as magical as you had hoped.. But, really, guys! Yesterday I attended a fabulous (by any foodie standards) event at the JW Marriott Resort. It's literally just a couple of miles from my home, but it feels like a vacation the minute you pull up.
The event was held outside at Bar 1936 and then later taken inside to a private dining room inside Lincoln. Lincoln is known for its locally-sourced, modern cuisine while Bar 1936 is know for its uniquely crafted cocktails and sharable, tapas-style plates.

This time of year, for the last SIX, I was getting my outfits in line and dieting for Coachella. I made so many amazing memories and feel blessed to have experienced it in what many would call its prime (and many would disagree, I like to believe the latter).
Anyway, if you've never been it can seem like this crazy unattainable event that only celebrities go to. And, in a way, it is. It's super expensive to go to Coachella, especially if you don't live on the West Coast.
If you don't already have plans in line for this year's festival, it's likely that you're not going. Tickets are hard to come by unless you want to buy them off of Craigslist for 5x their worth, and housing is another HORSE entirely.
